These folk used the Punk movement to get their message across and were fairly successful in doing so via the avant garde art project known as CRASS.
These albums changed my way of thinking as a young man in the early 1980's and they still have some relevance today, they also sound very good as the production was superb as was the musicianship and editing.
These albums are art pieces and are not Punk in musical style as far as I'm concerned, take the bass for example it's incredibly funky and the drums are super tight.
If you don't know the band at all then I recommend 'Stations Of The Crass' as a good place to start.
The biggest disappointment about Crass is that although they rightly highlighted many social injustices and corrupt government institutions as well as general problems within society, they were not able to offer a viable solution to the ordinary 'man in the street'.
In other words, "Yes I hear what you're saying Crass, but what can I do about it?"
